The youngest sibling of the stylish, statement Vik hotels, Bahia Vik sits along a stretch of white sand (just along from sister-hotel, Playa Vik), on the edge of Uruguay’s small beach town, José Ignacio. There are 49 beautifully furnished suites in total which are spread throughout the property – 10 in the main building and the rest divided between fourteen uniquely designed bungalows tucked into the beach dunes. Artist involvement is again an important focus at Bahia, where a wide range of contemporary Uruguayan and international artists collaborated with Alex and Carrie Vik and Marcelo Daglio to create site-specific installations for many spaces.
