Hotel B
LIMA, PERU
Lima’s only Relais & Chateaux hotel, Hotel B is a restored Belle Epoque mansion originally built as a summer house for a wealthy Limeño family in 1914, and re-opened as a boutique hotel in May 2013. The 20 spacious, charming rooms are spread between the historic “casona” and an adjoining modern extension, all with large pieces of artwork in fitting with the general arts theme of the hotel. There are more than 250 works of art dotted around the hotel, all Latin American but mainly Peruvian, including a throw on wall in library that dates back to 500 BC. The bar has a 1920s theme, and serves lunch and dinner; and there is also a library where afternoon tea is served, an internal courtyard and a roof terrace. Located in the historic neighbourhood of Barranco, Hotel B is ideal for guests who love culture, history and art (there are 6 art galleries alone on the same street as the hotel), plus personal touches: afternoon tea is included, as well as unpacking, shoe polishing and ironing services, and a glass of champagne on arrival – all at no extra cost. A perfect place to see the best of Lima, Hotel B also runs Experiences, from cookery and cocktail making to a ride up the Pacific Coast in a 1930s yacht.

Rates & Key Info
“In the 19th century, Barranco was a fashionable seaside resort where Lima’s aristocracy built Belle Epoque summer villas. In the 21st century, it has become the city’s bohemian neighbourhood, a Left Bank of artists, writers and musicians, including the fashion photographer Mario Testino, whose MATE gallery is one of the new highlights. Barranco is now Party Central, full of atmospheric bars,”
— Stanley Stewart, writing in The Sunday Times.
“On a bluff overlooking the Pacific, Barranco, Lima, is perhaps the best place to eat in what’s arguably the best city for eating in the world… Sunset pisco sours are de rigueur at the ocean-view rooftop bar at this 20-key Relais & Châteaux property…”
