In 2019, Awasi commissioned a study, undertaken by external experts, to determine the carbon emissions generated by Awasi’s three lodges as well as the carbon sequestered by the forested areas controlled by Awasi. Emissions generated include staff transfers between properties, as well as emissions generated by guests travelling to and from Awasi lodges from their countries of origin. By protecting and maintaining 340 hectares of virgin forest and native woodland in Iguazu and Patagonia, which absorb over 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year, Awasi have been able to offset the carbon emissions from their operations, ensuring that Awasi is officially carbon neutral.

Children over the age of 10 are welcome (the private guide and 4WD make Awasi a great option for families as you can go at your own pace). Children between 10 and 18 years of age, pay 50% of the regular rate.

Property Location
Getting There: Punta Arenas (PUQ) in Chile has several daily flights from Santiago (SCL) and is a five hour transfer from Awasi Patagonia. LATAM Airline also offers several flights from Santiago to Puerto Natales (PNT) which is 2 hours from Awasi Patagonia by car. Transfers are included from the Argentina/Chile border crossing at Cerro Castillo, or from Puerto Natales, Chile. Additional private transfers can be arranged at cost price from Punta Arenas or El Calafate.
