South America Rep is a UK representation company, working to promote a hand-picked collection of luxury hotels, lodges and boats in Latin America and Spain. Our partners are properties that deliver the most memorable, unique, high-quality travel experiences across the region.
The point of contact for the UK travel industry, South America Rep builds relationships between partner hotels and the travel trade. Carrying out training sessions in person – from large sales teams to individual travel agents across the country – online, and at trade shows, South America Rep ensures tour operators and travel agents have all the necessary information and are kept up to date with changes and promotions in order to facilitate sales.
As well as gaining exposure and expanding databases through meetings with the travel trade, South America Rep believes a multi-pronged approach is the most effective way of gaining optimum exposure for clients. Therefore, as well as sales support, the following other services are offered: Social Media and Community Management, Marketing & PR and Content Production.
Meet The Team
Gabriel
Owner and founder of South America Rep, Gabriel spent the best part of a decade living and travelling in South America (her two sons were born in Santiago de Chile).
Her meticulous standards and strong contacts come from a background in journalism: she worked for ABC News, Bloomberg and BBC World News, and has a portfolio of travel articles published in high-end media, including Conde Nast Traveller, Tatler, CNN and the Financial Times: www.gabrielororke.com.
As well as visiting the finest luxury properties across Latin America as a travel writer, Gabriel worked for Awasi in their Santiago office, gaining first-hand experience of how hotels operate before launching South America Rep.
Gabriel is on the Board of Directors for the Sol y Luna Foundation, Peru.
Tom
Tom formally joined the South America Rep team in early 2019 after working for 12 years in finance in both London, UK, and Santiago, Chile. As a boy he lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and reignited his love for Latin America travelling overland from Costa Rica to Mexico as a student.
He has travelled widely across Southern and Central America, accompanying Gabriel on trips as well as whilst working as a luxury travel writer for a selection of British-based newspapers and magazines. He lived with Gabriel and their two boys in Santiago, Chile, for 5 years where he built up an extensive, first-hand knowledge of the travel sector in the region. Both Gabriel and Tom are fluent Spanish speakers.
Saskia
Saskia joined the team in April 2019, having taken a couple of years away from the travel world to have her second child. Her love of Latin America began when she first set foot on the continent at the age of 18, and she has spent the ensuing years travelling extensively throughout Mexico, Central and South America.
Prior to starting a family, Saskia managed the Latin America team at Original Travel, a luxury tour operator based in South West London where she spent 9 happy years.
Silvia
Silvia joins the South America Rep team to bring valuable support to the growing demands of our amazing clients.
A passionate traveller, Silvia’s love affair with Latin America blossomed when she first visited Mexico over 20 years ago, where she lived for a year setting up her own business while riding the mighty waves of the Mexican Pacific.
After countless travels across the globe and many positions taken within the travel industry, Silvia is now happily settled in the Surrey countryside where she enjoys her spare time teaching mindfulness and meditation in her local community.
Silvia is also a proud member of the Sol y Luna Foundation team, driving its fundraising efforts and communications strategy.
Hayley
Hayley has been involved in the design and website development of South America Rep from the very beginning. As well as patiently adding endless content updates on the website, she also takes charge of designing invitations and reports for FAM trips and events.
She has only visited South America once, on a snowboarding trip to Chile in 2008, but would love to go back someday. Her love of snowboarding led to 5 years living in Chamonix, France, where she continued her design business while enjoying the alpine mountains and the activities they offer. Now settled back in Scotland she works from a countryside office and spends most of her free time entertaining an over active Border Collie.
