Like staying in an art gallery, each of the 29 suites was decorated by an artist - styles range hugely from Japanese to Napoleonic, Vogue-chic or hyper-realistic portraits. Designed to resemble a god ring (located in the Millahue Valley which means ‘place of gold’) the hotel overlooks the 11,000-acre estate complete with lagoon and on-site winery.

Located 15-minutes inland from its beach siblings, this 12 room colonial-style estancia is set on a 3,700-acre estate and the twelve suites are each designed by a different Uruguayan artist. Explore the underground wine cellar, play pool, ping-pong, lie by the swimming pool, try your hand at polo and ride down to a lagoon surrounded by flamingos, ostriches and storks.
