February saw the opening of a new hotel at Argentina’s famous Iguazu Falls. Awasi Iguazu has just 14 villas, each one with its own dedicated 4WD and private guide. The idea at Awasi is to enjoy the best of the falls but also get to know the surrounding Atlantic Rainforest. There are 1000s of endemic species to discover for nature-lovers and plenty of active adventures including kayaking, taking the Awasi boat to a hidden waterfall and visiting local Guarani tribes. The lodge was made a member of the Relais & Chateaux collection within the first month of opening, and has had extensive press coverage including in Vogue, Departures, Conde Nast Traveller and Travel + Leisure.
